Laingsburg Community Schools is focused on transmitting essential knowledge and skills in a way that develops each student’s ability to think clearly and solve problems while nurturing every student’s potential. The district is in a rural setting with three lake communities located 20 miles northeast of Lansing. It has four buildings serving almost 1,200 students and a voting population of approximately 6,180 people. With Christman and TowerPinkster, Laingsburg developed a $17.8 Million bond proposal with a 1.5 mill increase in May 2019. The bond passed by 64.8% and the construction process is now complete.

Inclusive Community Engagement for Successful Bond Programs [DEI/Leadership Development/Other]

Aligning bond programs to district and community needs and the outreach necessary to garner community support is an art and a science. In this facilitated panel discussion, you’ll hear from two superintendents along with their construction manager and architect partners who have traversed the unique twists and turns of bond program scope development. Through a series of Q&As with active audience engagement, we’ll explore best practices for fostering inclusive processes, building trust, and pursuing equity.
