Assistant Superintendent

Scott Long has been an educator in the West Bloomfield School District for 19 years.  He was a classroom teacher for ten years before serving as the Assistant Principal at Orchard Lake Middle School and then the Principal at Doherty Elementary School.  As the Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services in West Bloomfield, Scott is driven to support educators, students and families to be the best version of themselves imaginable, Scott is always seeking ways to provide the time, resources, and inspiration needed to make this mission a reality.  He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and Masters in Reading and Literacy from Central Michigan University; he also earned his Education Specialist in Leadership from Oakland University.  While working hard to inspire students and teachers is a passion, his heart and soul rests in being a devoted husband to his wife, Jessica, and a committed father to his son, Grady, and twin girls, Zoey and Olivia
