Patrick Brown
Executive Director
Patrick Brown serves as the Executive Director of the Michigan Adult, Community and Alternative Education (MACAE) Association, the leading professional organization in the state of Michigan for individuals working in these fields. In this role he leads the professional development resources, advocacy initiatives and networking of the association. Patrick has held various positions in the education and nonprofit sectors including serving in Adult Basic Education at the Dominican Literacy Center in Detroit. He served at the Okemos ESL Program as the Program Specialist for two years. He most recently worked as a high school AP Language and Composition and English IV instructor at Fr. Gabriel Richard High School. Prior to becoming Director, Patrick served as MACAE’s Communications and Outreach Coordinator helping to build partnerships and increase the association’s membership while working through a partnership with Michigan’s Children as an Outreach Associate for Youth and Adult Populations. He serves as a member of COABE, and the Michigan ESL Professional Advisory Committee. His leadership philosophy is one of building transitions, increasing empathy and implementing innovative strategies.
